ACRIFIX® 1S 0109 High Viscosity Acrylic Adhesive for Edge Bonding

ACRIFIX® 1S 0109 is a 1 Component solvent based adhesive designed specifically for applications that require thickness and control rather than flow. It is a Highly Viscous, Transparent, and Physically Curing Adhesive that remains in place during application. Itis ideal for Edge Bonding and Signage work such as Letter Adhesion.

ACRIFIX® 1S 0109 Works best with uncrosslinked PLEXIGLAS® materials, including Extruded Sheets and Injection Molded Components, where reliable Bonding Strength and Stability are required. Due to its Thick Structure, it is not suitable for Area Bonding but performs exceptionally well in localized joint applications.

One of the key advantages of ACRIFIX® 1S 0109 is its Gap Filling capability, which allows it to Bond Surfaces that do not fit perfectly together. This makes it more forgiving compared to Low Viscosity adhesives, as it can compensate for minor irregularities between parts. The adhesive is applied directly to Clean, Grease Free Surfaces, and its Structure prevents it from flowing away from the Joint Area. Unlike Capillary Adhesives, it shows no self flow behavior, giving users better control during placement, especially in Vertical or Complex Assembly Conditions.

ACRIFIX® 1S 0109 works by slightly softening the Acrylic Surface, allowing polymer chains to expand and interlock as the solvent interacts with the material. As the Parts are Joined, the solvent gradually evaporates and diffuses into the substrate, causing the interlocked chains to contract and form a strong unified bond. ACRIFIX® 1S 0109 delivers Fast initial Bonding within approximately 5 to 10 Seconds, allowing Quick Handling and Faster production flow while maintaining Good Bond Strength and Long-Term Stability.

Due to its Highly Viscous Nature, ACRIFIX® 1S 0109 Quickly forms a Surface Skin after application and does not Exhibit Capillary Action. This means it stays exactly where it is applied, making it Ideal for controlled Edge Bonding Tasks. The Adhesive produces Clear, Colorless Joints, although Bubble Formation may occur depending on application conditions. When used on Colored Acrylic Materials, Slight Bleeding of Pigments may also be observed, which should be considered during Design and Finishing Processes.

ACRIFIX® 1S 0109 is RoHS Compliant and designed for Professional use where Strength, Control, and Efficiency are required. As a Solvent Based Adhesive, it contains Dichloromethane, which requires proper ventilation and protective handling due to Potential Long Term Health Risks similar to Chloroform Type Compounds.
