LEXAN™ CXT17UV Polycarbonate Resin is a High Heat Copolymer Polycarbonate material engineered for applications requiring UV Stability, Optical Clarity, and Elevated Temperature Performance. With a Vicat Softening Temperature of 170°C, this Grade is designed to maintain Clarity and Mechanical Integrity in Environments exposed to both Heat and Light.
When Transparent components are used in Light-Exposed Environments, preventing degradation becomes a Key Design Challenge. This Grade Incorporates UV Stabilization Technology, helping preserve Optical Clarity and material Integrity over time, supporting Long-Term Visual and Structural performance in Outdoor or Light-Intensive applications.
A Key Strength of LEXAN™ CXT17UV Polycarbonate Resin is its ability to Combine High Heat Resistance with UV Durability, allowing components to perform reliably in Environments where both Thermal Stress and Ultraviolet exposure are Present. This makes it particularly suitable for applications where Transparency must be maintained under Harsh Conditions.
The material also offers Limited Yellowing Behavior, ensuring that Parts retain their appearance even after repeated Thermal Processing or Extended exposure to Light. This supports consistent Aesthetic Quality and Functional reliability across the Product Lifecycle.
From a Processing Standpoint, the Resin features a Broad Processing Window, Giving manufacturers flexibility in Molding Conditions. This helps achieve consistent Part Quality and reduces Sensitivity during Processing, Contributing to improved Manufacturing Consistency and Operational Stability.
Despite its Optical Focus, the material maintains good Dimensional Stability, allowing Parts to retain Shape and alignment during use. This is Essential for applications where Precision and Fit must be maintained alongside Visual Performance.
LEXAN™ CXT17UV Polycarbonate Resin Achieves UL94 HB Rating from 1.50 mm to 3.00 mm Thickness, making it suitable for General-Purpose applications where Basic Flame performance is Sufficient. In addition, it is RoHS Compliant, aligning with Global Environmental Standards.
In practical use, this Grade is well suited for Outdoor Transparent Components, Lighting Covers, Automotive Lighting Elements, Display Panels, and Industrial Parts exposed to UV and Heat. Its combination of Clarity and Durability supports reliable Long-Term Performance.
