LEXAN™ EXL4412 Polycarbonate Resin is a 20% Glass Reinforced Polycarbonate Siloxane Copolymer material engineered for applications requiring High Stiffness, enhanced Impact Performance, and Low Temperature Ductility. This Opaque Grade is designed to deliver a unique balance of Reinforced Strength and Impact Modification, making it suitable for demanding Structural applications.
In applications exposed to Mechanical Stress and sudden Impact Loads, Materials must Absorb Energy without Brittle Failure. This Grade is formulated with Impact Modified Performance, allowing components to maintain Integrity under Dynamic Loading while providing reliable Structural performance in Real-World Conditions.
A Key Advantage of LEXAN™ EXL4412 Polycarbonate Resin is its 20% Glass Reinforcement combined with Toughening Technology, which delivers High Stiffness with improved Impact Resistance. This makes it Ideal for applications where Rigidity Alone is not Sufficient, and controlled Energy Absorption is required.
The material also provides reliable Low Temperature Ductility at -20°C, ensuring Parts retain flexibility and Resist Cracking under Colder Operating Conditions. This supports consistent Mechanical behavior across variable Temperature Environments.
With its Medium Flow Profile (MVR ~10), the Resin offers controlled Mold Filling while maintaining Dimensional Accuracy. This supports stable Processing, consistent Geometry, and reliable Part Quality, particularly in Structural Thin-Wall Designs.
Another Distinguishing Feature is its capability in Thin Wall Sections, achieving UL94 HB Rating from 0.40 mm to 1.80 mm Thickness. This allows for Compact and Lightweight Component Design without Compromising Mechanical Performance.
The Siloxane-Modified Structure further enhances Toughness and Resistance to Crack Propagation, ensuring Durability under repeated Stress and Impact Conditions. This makes the material especially valuable in applications requiring Long-Term reliability under Dynamic Loads.
Despite its Reinforcement, the material maintains Reasonable Surface Quality and Dimensional Stability, enabling consistent performance in both Functional and Semi-Visible Components.
