LEXAN™ FL2000 Polycarbonate Resin is an Advanced Polycarbonate Copolymer developed for Foam Injection Molding applications, enabling a unique combination of Weight Reduction and Structural Performance. This Opaque Grade is designed for manufacturers Aiming to Optimize material Usage while maintaining Mechanical Strength and Part Integrity.
In Foaming Processes, reducing Density without Sacrificing performance is a Key Challenge. This Grade allows controlled Cell Formation within the Material, Resulting in Lighter components with Retained Stiffness and Impact Resistance. such characteristics support more efficient Designs, especially in applications where Weight Savings Contribute to Overall System performance or Cost Efficiency.
Processing behavior is Influenced by its Medium Flow Profile, which provides a stable balance between Flowability and Foam Structure Control. This enables consistent material Expansion during Molding, helping to maintain uniform Cell distribution and Predictable Part Geometry. as a Result, manufacturers can achieve Repeatable Outcomes while reducing material Consumption.
Despite its Lightweight Structure, the Resin delivers good Impact Strength, ensuring components can withstand Mechanical Stress during use. In addition, the material maintains Ductility at -20°C, allowing Parts to remain Flexible and resistant to Cracking under Moderate Cold Conditions. This supports reliable performance across a range of Environmental Conditions.
From a Flame Classification Perspective, LEXAN™ FL2000 Polycarbonate Resin Achieves UL94 HB Rating at 4.00 mm Thickness, making it suitable for applications where Basic Flame performance is Sufficient.
The formulation is also RoHS Compliant, supporting alignment with Global Environmental and Regulatory Standards.
This Grade is typically applied in Automotive Components, Large Enclosures, Structural Panels, and Industrial Parts where reduced Weight, material Efficiency, and Dependable performance are Key Design Considerations.
