Non Reinforced. Low Temperature -20 °C Ductility with Good High Flow
LEXAN™ HFD1212 Polycarbonate Resin is a Transparent Polycarbonate Copolymer developed for applications requiring High Flow Processability, Low Temperature Ductility, and Optical Clarity. This Non-Reinforced, Non-Flame Retardant Grade is designed to support efficient Molding while maintaining reliable Mechanical performance in Everyday Operating Conditions.
In applications where Manufacturing Efficiency and Part Complexity are Key Considerations, material Flow Plays a Decisive Role. This Grade offers High Flow Characteristics, enabling Smooth Filling of Intricate Geometries and Thin Sections with reduced Injection Pressure. Such behavior supports Shorter Cycle Times and improved Production Throughput, making it a practical Choice for High-Volume Injection Molding.
The material delivers Dependable Ductility at -20°C, allowing components to maintain flexibility and Resist Cracking under Moderate Cold Conditions. This ensures stable performance in applications where Temperature Variation is Present but Extreme Cold Resistance is not required.
Its Transparent Composition provides good Optical Clarity, making it suitable for Parts where Visibility, Inspection, or Aesthetic appearance is Important. This combination of Clarity and Processability allows Designers to produce High-Quality Transparent components with consistent Finish and Detail Reproduction.
The Copolymer Structure contributes to balanced Impact Resistance and Durability, enabling Parts to perform reliably under standard Mechanical Loads and repeated use. This supports Long-Term Functionality while maintaining Dimensional Consistency Necessary for accurate Assembly.
From a Flame performance Standpoint, LEXAN™ HFD1212 Polycarbonate Resin Achieves UL94 HB Rating from 0.75 mm to 3.00 mm Thickness, making it suitable for applications where Basic Flame performance is sufficient and No Flame-Retardant Additives are required.
The Grade is also RoHS Compliant, supporting alignment with Global Environmental and Regulatory Standards.
Typical applications include Transparent Housings, Consumer Products, Lighting Components, and General-Purpose Molded Parts where High Flow, Clarity, and balanced Mechanical performance are required.
