LEXAN™ HFD4271 Polycarbonate Resin is a Transparent Polycarbonate Copolymer Reinforced with 10% Glass Fiber and enhanced with Impact Modification, engineered to deliver High Structural Performance, improved Toughness, and efficient High-Flow Processing. This Grade combines Reinforcement and Ductility, making it suitable for applications where both Strength and Resistance to Mechanical Stress are required.

In Designs where components Experience repeated Loading or Impact Conditions, the material Benefits from its Impact-Modified Formulation, which helps Absorb Energy and reduce the Risk of Brittle Failure. This is particularly valuable in Reinforced Systems, where improved Toughness Balances the Inherent Stiffness Introduced by Glass Fiber Content.

The Presence of 10% Glass Reinforcement enhances Stiffness and Dimensional Stability, enabling components to maintain Structural Integrity under Load. at the same time, the Resin maintains good Flow Characteristics, allowing it to Fill Complex Molds Efficiently and support consistent Production Output, even in Detailed or Thin-Wall Geometries.

Under Moderate Cold Conditions, the Grade retains Ductility at -10°C, allowing Parts to remain Flexible and resistant to Cracking. This performance ensures Dependable Operation in applications exposed to varying Environmental Temperatures without requiring Extreme Low-Temperature Materials.

Although Reinforced, LEXAN™ HFD4271 Polycarbonate Resin maintains a Degree of Transparency, making it suitable for applications where Visual Access and Structural Strength must Coexist. This combination allows Designers to reduce Part Thickness or Integrate Functionality without Sacrificing Durability or Appearance.

From a Mechanical Standpoint, the formulation provides a balanced Profile of Stiffness, Impact Resistance, and Dimensional Consistency, supporting reliable Assembly Fit and Long-Term Performance. components can maintain Geometry and alignment even under Mechanical Stress.

For Flame Performance, LEXAN™ HFD4271 Polycarbonate Resin Achieves UL94 HB Classification from 0.40 mm to 3.00 mm Thickness, Meeting requirements for applications where Basic Flame Resistance is sufficient and Flame-Retardant Systems are not Necessary.

LEXAN™ HFD4271 Polycarbonate Resin is RoHS Compliant, supporting alignment with Global Environmental and Regulatory Standards.

This Grade is commonly selected for Reinforced Transparent Housings, Structural Covers, Industrial Components, and Impact-Loaded Parts where a combination of Strength, Toughness, and High-Flow Processing is required.
