LEXAN™ HPH4404 Opaque Polycarbonate Resin. Biocompatible High Heat

LEXAN™ HPH4404 Polycarbonate Resin is an Opaque Polycarbonate Copolymer engineered for Healthcare applications requiring a combination of High Heat Resistance, Biocompatibility, and reliable Mechanical Performance. This Grade is specifically suited for Medical Environments where Materials must endure Elevated Temperatures and repeated Sterilization Cycles while maintaining Structural Integrity.

In Medical Device applications, Materials are often exposed to High-Temperature Sterilization Processes and demanding Service Conditions. This Grade is designed to withstand Autoclave and Ethylene Oxide (Eto) Sterilization, ensuring that components maintain performance without Significant degradation over time. Its formulation supports ISO 10993 and USP Class VI Compliance, enabling Safe use in applications Involving Patient Contact.

The Material’s High Heat Capability Distinguishes it from standard Healthcare Polycarbonate Grades, allowing it to retain Mechanical properties under Thermal Stress. This makes it Appropriate for Devices that must operate reliably under repeated Heating Cycles or in Environments where Temperature Stability is Critical.

Processing behavior is defined by its Medium Flow Profile, providing a balance between Mold Filling Efficiency and Dimensional Control. This enables manufacturers to achieve consistent Part Geometry while maintaining stable Production Conditions, particularly for components that require Precision and Repeatability.

The Copolymer Structure also supports Low Temperature Ductility, allowing Parts to maintain Toughness under varying Environmental Conditions. This ensures consistent performance during Handling, Storage, and use across a Wide Temperature Range.

From a Flame Classification Standpoint, LEXAN™ HPH4404 Polycarbonate Resin Achieves UL94 HB Rating from 0.75 mm to 3.00 mm Thickness, making it suitable for applications where Basic Flame performance is sufficient without requiring Flame-Retardant Additives.

The formulation is RoHS Compliant, supporting alignment with Global Environmental and Regulatory Standards.

This Grade is well suited for Medical Device Housings, Sterilizable Components, Diagnostic Equipment, and Reusable Healthcare Products Where High Heat Resistance, Biocompatibility, and Durability are Essential.
