LEXAN™ HPH4504 Polycarbonate Resin is an Opaque Polycarbonate Copolymer developed for Healthcare applications requiring High Heat Resistance, Biocompatibility, and robust Structural performance under demanding Conditions. This Grade is engineered to perform reliably in Environments where repeated Sterilization and Thermal exposure are Part of the Product Lifecycle.

Medical components often Undergo Intensive Sterilization Processes, and this material is designed to withstand both Autoclave and Ethylene Oxide (Eto) Sterilization without Significant Loss of Properties. Compliance with ISO 10993 and USP Class VI Standards supports its use in applications Involving Patient Contact, ensuring material Safety and Compatibility in Regulated Healthcare Environments.

A Distinguishing Characteristic of this Grade is its High Viscosity Profile, which provides increased Melt Strength during Processing. This enables Better Control when Molding Thicker Sections or Structural Components, where Dimensional Stability and Resistance to deformation are Critical. Compared to Higher-Flow Variants, this formulation Prioritizes Structural Integrity and Processing Control over Rapid Mold Filling.

The material also maintains Low Temperature Ductility, allowing Parts to retain Toughness across a Wide Temperature Range. This supports consistent performance not only during Sterilization Cycles but also throughout Handling, Storage, and Final use in Varied Environmental Conditions.

Unlike Flame-Retardant Grades, this Resin is not designed for UL94 Classification, reflecting its Positioning in Healthcare applications where Biocompatibility, Thermal Stability, and Durability Take Precedence over Fire Performance.

The formulation is also RoHS Compliant, supporting alignment with Global Environmental and Regulatory Standards.

This Grade is typically selected for Medical Housings, Sterilizable Components, Reusable Instruments, and Structural Healthcare Parts where High Heat Resistance, Mechanical Stability, and Long-Term reliability are Essential.
