LEXAN™ HPX4 Transparent Polycarbonate Resin. Autoclave EtO Healthcare

LEXAN™ HPX4 Polycarbonate Resin is a Transparent Polycarbonate Copolymer developed for Healthcare applications requiring Biocompatibility, Optical Clarity, and reliable performance under repeated Sterilization Conditions. This Grade is engineered to support Medical Environments where both Visibility and Durability are Essential for Product Functionality and Safety.

In Medical Device applications, maintaining material performance through Multiple Sterilization Cycles is Critical. This Grade is Compatible with both Autoclave and Ethylene Oxide (Eto) Sterilization Processes, ensuring that components retain Mechanical Integrity and appearance over time. Compliance with ISO 10993 and USP Class VI Standards supports its use in applications Involving Direct or Indirect Patient Contact, providing confidence in material Safety and Regulatory Acceptance.

Processing behavior is defined by its Medium Viscosity Profile, offering a balance between Flow Efficiency and Control. This allows manufacturers to achieve stable Mold Filling while maintaining Dimensional Accuracy and Surface Quality, particularly in components requiring Precision and consistent Optical Performance.

The Transparent formulation provides excellent Clarity and Light Transmission, making it suitable for Parts where Visibility, Inspection, or Illumination is required. This enables Designers to Integrate both Functional Transparency and Mechanical Reliability into a Single Component, especially in Diagnostic or Fluid-Related applications.

From a Durability Standpoint, the Copolymer Structure supports good Impact Resistance and Low Temperature Ductility, allowing Parts to maintain Toughness during Handling, Storage, and use. This contributes to consistent performance across varying Conditions Encountered throughout the Product Lifecycle.

In Terms of Flame Classification, LEXAN™ HPX4 Polycarbonate Resin Achieves UL94 HB Rating from 1.50 mm to 3.00 mm Thickness, Meeting Basic Fire performance requirements for applications where Flame Retardancy is not a Primary Concern.

The formulation is also RoHS Compliant, supporting alignment with Global Environmental and Regulatory Standards.

This Grade is commonly selected for Transparent Medical Housings, Diagnostic Components, Fluid Contact Parts, and Reusable Healthcare Devices where Clarity, Sterilization Capability, and Biocompatibility are required together.
