LEXAN™ SLX2271T Polycarbonate Resin is a Transparent Copolymer engineered for Outdoor applications where UV Stability, efficient Processing, and Integrated Flame performance must be achieved in a Single Material. It is designed to provide a practical balance between Optical Clarity, Environmental Durability, and Cost-Effective Manufacturing.
Outdoor exposure Places Continuous Stress on Materials, especially in Terms of Color Stability and Surface Integrity. LEXAN™ SLX2271T Polycarbonate Resin Incorporates Advanced UV Stabilization, helping reduce Yellowing and Surface degradation over time. This allows components to maintain their Transparent appearance and Optical Quality even under Prolonged Sunlight Exposure.
Processing Efficiency is a Key Advantage of this Grade. The Low Viscosity Profile enables Smooth Mold Filling, particularly in Thin-Wall Sections and Complex Geometries. This reduces Injection Pressure requirements and allows Faster Cycle Times, supporting Higher Productivity in Large-Scale Manufacturing. Easy Release Functionality further Improves Demolding, helping maintain consistent Surface Finish and reducing Tool Wear.
In addition to Outdoor Durability, this material also offers Integrated Flame Performance. LEXAN™ SLX2271T Polycarbonate Resin Achieves UL94 V-2 Rating from 2.00 mm to 3.00 mm Thickness, providing an added Level of Fire Safety for applications where both Environmental Resistance and Basic Flame performance are required.
Chemical Resistance supports further Durability, allowing the material to withstand exposure to Cleaning Agents, Pollutants, and Environmental Contaminants. This contributes to stable performance in Outdoor and Semi-Industrial Conditions where Multiple Stress Factors are Present.
From a Mechanical Perspective, the Copolymer Structure provides balanced Impact Strength and Dimensional Stability. components maintain their Shape and alignment over time, ensuring consistent Assembly Fit and reliable In-Service Performance.
