NORYL™ PN235 Plating Automotive Resin PPE + HIPS Non UL Rated Blend

NORYL™ PN235 PPE+HIPS Resin is a Non‑reinforced Polyphenylene Ether (PPE) and High Impact Polystyrene (HIPS) Blend developed as a Plating Grade for Automotive Applications. This material is engineered to provide a reliable base for metallization while maintaining Impact Resistance and Hydrolytic Stability during service.

In plated components, the base material plays a critical role in adhesion and long-term durability. This grade is formulated to support Surface Preparation and Metallization Processes, enabling stable bonding for coatings such as chrome plating, while ensuring Consistent Substrate Performance.

Without reinforcement, NORYL™ PN235 PPE+HIPS Resin offers greater surface uniformity and controlled ductility, which are important for plating quality. Its balanced mechanical properties provide Good Impact Resistance and Structural Stability, allowing parts to handle stress without cracking or coating failure.

From a manufacturing standpoint, the material processes smoothly with predictable shrinkage characteristics. This helps maintain dimensional accuracy and surface consistency, supporting improved Manufacturing Consistency and Plating Quality Control during production.

NORYL™ PN235 PPE+HIPS Resin is classified as Non UL Rated, making it suitable for applications where flame retardancy is not a requirement. It still maintains strong moisture resistance and environmental stability typical of PPE-based materials. In addition, it is RoHS Compliant, aligning with Global Environmental Standards.

In practical use, this grade is well suited for Automotive Trim Components, Decorative Parts, and Plated Exterior or Interior Elements where appearance and durability must work together. Its ability to support plating while retaining mechanical integrity makes it a reliable option for aesthetic-focused applications.
