LEXAN™ H6506 Sheet. High Stiffness Low Gloss Opaque PC/ABS for Rail

LEXAN™ H6506 Sheet is a high-performance opaque PC/ABS sheet specifically developed for railway and mass transportation interior applications requiring compliance with stringent international regulations for fire performance, smoke density and smoke toxicity. Engineered as a lightweight alternative to traditional interior materials, LEXAN™ H6506 combines excellent mechanical properties, attractive surface aesthetics and outstanding regulatory compliance for modern rail vehicle interiors.

Manufactured as a solid, low-gloss PC/ABS blend, LEXAN™ H6506 Sheet features a suede textured top surface and a non-functional fine matte bottom surface, providing an attractive appearance while helping conceal scratches, fingerprints and everyday wear. The low-gloss surface finish enhances passenger comfort by reducing excessive reflections and creating a premium interior aesthetic.

A key advantage of LEXAN™ H6506 is its exceptional compliance with multiple international railway standards. The sheet has been developed to satisfy stringent requirements for railway interiors across Europe, France, Germany, Russia, Poland and North America, making it an ideal material for global transportation projects requiring a common interior solution.

Unlike traditional polycarbonate materials, LEXAN™ H6506 Sheet can be thermoformed at lower processing temperatures, helping reduce manufacturing energy consumption and production costs. The material also offers molded-in color capability, eliminating the need for secondary painting processes while reducing environmental impact and providing excellent long-term appearance retention.

The sheet utilizes a bromine-free and chlorine-free flame retardant formulation, making it an environmentally conscious solution for transportation interiors while maintaining excellent fire safety performance.

LEXAN™ H6506 Sheet complies with numerous railway industry standards and regulations including German DIN 5510-2:2009, French NF F 16-101 M1 F1 from 2.0 mm to 4.0 mm, European EN45545 HL2 requirements for R1 Interior Walls and Ceilings and R6 Seating applications from 3.0 mm to 4.0 mm, Russian Railway Standard GOST 12.1.044-89, and Polish Railway Standards PN-K-02511 and UIC564-2 Annex 7-11-15 P1(A)-R1-D2(B)-T2 at 4.0 mm for wall and ceiling applications.

The material also satisfies key United States railway regulations, including NFPA 130, ASTM E162, ASTM E662, ASTM E1354, and SMP 800C Toxic Gas Sampling and Analytical Procedures, ensuring compliance with demanding fire, smoke density and smoke toxicity requirements for passenger rail systems.
