ULTEM™ DT1820EV Non Reinforced Transparent, High Heat PEI Blend Resin

ULTEM™ DT1820EV PEI Resin is engineered to bridge Optical Performance with high-quality Decorative Surface Finishing, allowing Applications to achieve both Functional Capability and Premium Aesthetic Appearance. As a Transparent Polyetherimide Material, ULTEM™ DT1820EV PEI Resin supports Light Transmission while enabling advanced Metallization Performance in demanding Design Environments.

A major differentiator lies in its direct compatibility with PVD Metallization Processes. The Material allows Primer-Free Sputtering Application, simplifying Coating Workflows and reducing Processing Steps. This results in more efficient Manufacturing while maintaining strong Coating Adhesion and consistent Surface Quality across Complex Components.

Thermal Performance plays a critical role during Coating Processes, where High Heat Resistance allows stable Behavior under PVD Conditions. ULTEM™ DT1820EV PEI Resin supports faster Processing Cycles without risk of Deformation, enabling higher Production Efficiency compared to Materials with lower Thermal Stability.

Dimensional Stability is equally important in maintaining Coating Integrity. The Material delivers Low Coefficient of Thermal Expansion combined with inherent Stiffness, helping prevent Cracking, Distortion, or Delamination of Metallized Layers during Temperature Variation. This ensures durable and consistent Surface Finishes over time.

By eliminating the need for Multi-Step Coating Systems such as NCVM, ULTEM™ DT1820EV PEI Resin enables cleaner Processing and more uniform Coating Layers. This allows sharper Edges, improved Feature Definition, and enhanced Visual Consistency, especially in Components with intricate Geometry.

Compared to traditional Glass-Filled Polycarbonate Solutions, the Material produces brighter and more refined Metallic Effects after PVD Processing. The resulting High-Gloss Finish closely replicates Metal Surfaces while supporting Weight Reduction and overall System Efficiency.

The Transparent Formulation provides flexibility in Optical and Surface Applications, allowing both Light Transmission and Decorative Coating Performance to be achieved within a single Material Platform.
