ULTEM™ DU242 PEI Blend Resin brings a different Performance Focus within Polyetherimide Materials by emphasizing Impact Strength and Processing Efficiency together. Instead of prioritizing Rigidity alone, ULTEM™ DU242 PEI Blend Resin is developed for Applications where Toughness and Moldability must align to support both Product Durability and Manufacturing Consistency.
In demanding Use Conditions, repeated Handling and sudden Impact often lead to Failure in brittle Materials. This Formulation introduces enhanced Toughness, allowing Components to absorb Mechanical Stress more effectively and reducing risk of Cracking during Service Life. The result is improved Reliability in Applications exposed to dynamic or unpredictable Loads.
Processing becomes more flexible due to enhanced Flow Characteristics, enabling easier filling of Complex Molds and Thin-Wall Designs. This Behavior supports consistent Material Distribution, allowing Manufacturers to produce detailed Components with fewer Processing Limitations while maintaining Part Accuracy.
Rather than focusing solely on Extreme Thermal Resistance, ULTEM™ DU242 PEI Blend Resin performs reliably within Moderate Temperature Ranges while retaining Mechanical Strength. This makes it suitable for Applications where Durability and Impact Performance are more critical than maximum Heat Resistance.
Surface Functionality is supported through Metallization Capability without Primer, allowing simplified Secondary Operations and enabling high-quality Decorative or Functional Coatings. This Feature expands Design Possibilities while maintaining efficient Production Workflows.
Compared to Standard ULTEM™ 1000 Series Materials, the Blend delivers improved Impact Resistance, better Stain Resistance, and enhanced Processing Behavior. These combined Benefits allow Manufacturers to achieve stronger Components while improving Production Efficiency.
