ULTEM™ HU1004 PEI Resin is a High-Performance Medical-Grade Polyetherimide Material designed to provide Biocompatibility together with improved Toughness and enhanced Moisture Resistance. ULTEM™ HU1004 PEI Resin extends the HU Series by supporting Applications where repeated Sterilization Exposure and Mechanical Durability must be maintained under demanding Healthcare Conditions.

In Medical Environments, Components are frequently subjected to Sterilization Cycles along with Mechanical Handling Stress. The Material introduces enhanced Ductility, allowing Components to resist Cracking and Brittleness while maintaining Structural Integrity during repeated Use and Processing Conditions.

ULTEM™ HU1004 PEI Resin complies with ISO 10993 and USP Class VI Standards, ensuring Biocompatibility for regulated Medical and Pharmaceutical Applications. This Compliance allows safe implementation in Devices and Systems where Patient Safety and Regulatory Requirements remain Critical Requirements.

Improved Hydrolytic Stability enables ULTEM™ HU1004 PEI Resin to withstand Exposure to Moisture, Steam, and Cleaning Processes, allowing Components to maintain Performance through repeated Sterilization Cycles. This Resistance to Moisture Degradation supports extended Service Life in Sterilizable Applications.

The Material supports multiple Sterilization Methods, including Steam, Gamma, EtO, Hydrogen Peroxide, UV‑C, and E‑Beam, allowing flexible Processing and Validation of Medical Devices without compromising Mechanical or Chemical Performance.

Inherent Flame Retardant Properties allow ULTEM™ HU1004 PEI Resin to achieve UL94 V0 Rating from 0.75 mm to 3.00 mm, supporting Safety Requirements in Medical and Laboratory Environments requiring Flame Resistance and Material Reliability.

Available in Transparent Amber and Opaque Options, ULTEM™ HU1004 PEI Resin supports Design Flexibility for Applications requiring Visual Inspection or Structural Strength. This allows Engineers to develop Medical Components tailored for both Functional and Aesthetic Requirements.
