ULTEM™ HU2110 PEI Resin targets Medical and Pharmaceutical Applications where Strength, Clarity, and Sterilization Resistance must align within a single Material Solution. The 10% Glass Fiber Reinforcement introduces added Structural Capability, while improved Flow Behavior supports efficient Molding of Complex and High-Precision Components. Availability in Transparent Amber and Opaque Color Options allows flexibility across both Functional and Visual Design Requirements.
A defining aspect of this Grade lies in its ability to combine Reinforcement with Processability. The Glass Fiber Content provides increased Stiffness and enhanced Dimensional Stability, allowing Components to maintain Geometry under Mechanical Load. At the same time, optimized Flow Characteristics enable better Mold Filling, ensuring consistent Part Formation even in Detailed or Thin Features.
Sterilization Performance remains a core strength, as the Material withstands repeated exposure to Steam, Gamma Radiation, and Chemical Processes without significant loss of Mechanical Integrity or Surface Quality. This Stability supports long-term use in reusable Devices where Hygiene and Reliability remain Critical Requirements.
Chemical Resistance further strengthens Application Reliability, allowing the Material to perform effectively against Disinfectants, Cleaning Agents, and Pharmaceutical Fluids. This ensures consistent Performance in Environments where frequent Cleaning and Chemical Exposure occur.
Inherent Flame Retardant Properties allow UL94 V0 Classification from 0.41 mm to 3.00 mm, supporting Safety Requirements in Medical and Laboratory Systems. Thermal Stability ensures reliable Behavior under Elevated Temperature Conditions, maintaining Material Performance during Processing and Service Life.
Compared to Non-Reinforced Alternatives, ULTEM™ HU2110 PEI Resin offers a stronger Structural Profile while maintaining sufficient Optical Capability for Applications requiring partial Transparency or Visual Monitoring. This combination allows Engineers to address both Mechanical and Functional Design Needs.
