Electrically Conductive Characteristic with Standard ULTEM features
ULTEM™ JD7903 PEI Resin introduces Electrical Conductivity into the High-Performance Polyetherimide Platform by combining Carbon Powder with 10% Glass Fiber Reinforcement. This Material is developed for Applications where Static Dissipation, Conductivity, and Structural Strength must be achieved simultaneously within a single Material Solution.
The incorporation of Conductive Carbon Additives allows Components to manage Electrical Charge effectively, making ULTEM™ JD7903 PEI Resin suitable for Applications involving Electrostatic Control or Electrical Functionality. This Feature expands its use into Electronic and Precision Systems where Material Conductivity remains Critical Requirements.
Glass Fiber Reinforcement contributes to enhanced Stiffness and Dimensional Stability, allowing Components to maintain Shape and Alignment under Mechanical Load. This Structural Support ensures that the Material retains Strength while delivering Conductive Performance, enabling reliable Operation in technically demanding Environments.
Unlike Transparent or Medical-Focused PEI Grades, ULTEM™ JD7903 PEI Resin is optimized for Functional Performance rather than Optical Clarity or Biocompatibility. Its Dark Opaque Appearance reflects the presence of Conductive Fillers, aligning with Applications where Electrical and Mechanical Characteristics take priority over Visual Requirements.
Chemical Resistance remains strong, allowing the Material to withstand exposure to Cleaning Agents, Industrial Fluids, and Environmental Contaminants without Performance Degradation. This ensures reliable behavior in Manufacturing, Industrial, and Controlled Environments where Chemical Exposure is common.
Thermal Stability supports consistent Mechanical Integrity under Elevated Temperature Conditions, maintaining the core Performance Attributes expected from Polyetherimide Materials. While the Material retains inherent Flame Resistance, it is not UL Rated, as its Formulation is focused on Conductivity and Functional Performance.
Processing behavior is stable and predictable, allowing accurate Molding of Precision Components with consistent Quality. This enables efficient Production and repeatable Results across Manufacturing Cycles, especially for Components requiring Tight Tolerances.
Typical Applications include Electronic Housings, Handling Trays, Anti-Static Components, and Precision Industrial Parts where Conductivity, Mechanical Strength, and Dimensional Stability must be delivered together. ULTEM™ JD7903 PEI Resin is also RoHS Compliant, supporting Environmentally Responsible Material Selection while delivering advanced Conductive Performance in Engineering Applications.
