ULTEM™ XP050 Foam. Non Reinforced 50 kg/m³. Outstanding Lighweight

Superior Flame, Smoke & Toxicity performance. Good Chemical Resistance

ULTEM™ XP050 PEI Foam is a High-Performance Polyetherimide Material engineered as a Lightweight Structural Core Solution with a Density of 50 kg/m³. ULTEM™ XP050 PEI Foam is designed for Applications requiring Extreme Weight Reduction combined with Structural Strength, supporting advanced Aerospace, Transportation, and Composite Engineering Systems where Weight Efficiency remains Critical Requirements.

Unlike Solid Thermoplastic Materials, this Grade functions as a Structural Core within Sandwich Constructions, allowing Designers to achieve High Stiffness while minimizing overall System Mass. The Foam Structure provides efficient Load Distribution, enabling ULTEM™ XP050 PEI Foam to support Composite Panels where Strength-to-Weight Performance is a primary Design Objective.

Compliance with FAR 25.853 ensures suitability for Fire-Sensitive Environments, allowing use in Aircraft Interior and Structural Applications requiring Flame, Smoke, and Toxicity Performance. Low Moisture Absorption and Resistance to Mold and Fungus support Long-Term Durability, ensuring stable Performance in Humid and Variable Operating Conditions.

Thermal Stability allows ULTEM™ XP050 PEI Foam to maintain Structural Integrity across Extreme Temperature Ranges, supporting reliable Performance in both Low-Temperature and Elevated Heat Environments. This ensures consistent Mechanical Behavior under demanding Environmental Conditions.

Additional Functional Benefits include Radar Transparency, allowing the Material to support Communication and Sensing Systems where minimal Signal Interference is required. This expands Application Potential into specialized Aerospace and Electronic Systems requiring Electromagnetic Compatibility.

Strong Chemical Resistance allows ULTEM™ XP050 PEI Foam to withstand Exposure to Fuels, Cleaning Agents, and Industrial Chemicals, ensuring Durability in harsh Operational Environments. Compatibility with various Adhesive Systems supports efficient Integration into Composite Structures, enabling flexible Assembly Processes.

While delivering inherent Flame Performance, ULTEM™ XP050 PEI Foam is not UL Rated, as the Material is optimized for Aerospace Compliance rather than standard Flame Classification Systems. The Material is also RoHS Compliant, supporting Environmentally Responsible Material Selection.

Typical Applications include Composite Panels, Aircraft Interior Structures, Flooring Systems, and Structural Reinforcements where Lightweight Design and Mechanical Strength must be delivered together. ULTEM™ XP050 PEI Foam enables Engineers to optimize Structural Efficiency while maintaining reliable Performance.

ULTEM™ XP050 PEI Foam provides a specialized combination of Lightweight Structure, Fire Safety Compliance, Chemical Durability, and Environmental Resistance, making it a dependable Material Solution for High-Performance Applications focused on Weight Reduction and Structural Innovation.
