ULTEM™ XP060 Foam. Non Reinforced 60 kg/m³. Outstanding Lighweight

Superior Flame, Smoke & Toxicity performance. Good Chemical Resistance

ULTEM™ XP060 PEI Foam is a High-Performance Polyetherimide Material developed at a Density of 60 kg/m³, providing an optimized balance between Lightweight Design and Structural Strength. ULTEM™ XP060 PEI Foam is engineered for Applications where Weight Reduction, Fire Safety Compliance, and Mechanical Durability must coexist, making it suitable for Aerospace, Transportation, and Advanced Engineering Systems.

Unlike Solid Reinforced Thermoplastics, this Material functions as a Structural Core, supporting Composite Panel Construction while significantly reducing overall System Mass. The Foam Structure allows efficient Load Distribution, enabling ULTEM™ XP060 PEI Foam to serve as a Lightweight Backbone within Sandwich Structures where Structural Efficiency remains Critical Requirements.

Compliance with FAR 25.853 ensures that ULTEM™ XP060 PEI Foam meets strict Aerospace Fire Safety Standards, supporting use in Aircraft Interior Systems and other Fire-Sensitive Environments. Low Moisture Absorption combined with Resistance to Mold and Fungus ensures Long-Term Stability in Humid and Challenging Conditions.

Thermal Stability enables consistent Performance across Extreme Temperature Ranges, allowing the Material to maintain Mechanical Integrity in both High-Heat and Low-Temperature Environments. This Capability supports reliable Operation in Applications exposed to fluctuating Thermal Conditions.

Additional Functional Advantages include Radar Transparency, allowing ULTEM™ XP060 PEI Foam to support Communication-Sensitive Systems where Signal Interference must be minimized. This Property expands Application Potential into specialized Technical Systems requiring Electromagnetic Compatibility.

Strong Chemical Resistance allows the Material to withstand exposure to Fuels, Cleaning Agents, and Industrial Chemicals, ensuring Durability in demanding Operational Environments. Good Adhesion Compatibility with various Bonding Systems, including Melt Adhesives and Phenolic Resins, supports efficient Integration into Composite Structures.

While delivering inherent Fire Performance, ULTEM™ XP060 PEI Foam is not UL Rated, as its Design is optimized for Aerospace Standards rather than conventional Flame Classification. The Material is also RoHS Compliant, supporting Environmentally Responsible Material Selection.

Typical Applications include Aircraft Interior Panels, Flooring Systems, Wall Structures, and Structural Reinforcements using Sandwich Construction Methods. ULTEM™ XP060 PEI Foam enables Designers to achieve High Stiffness and Structural Efficiency without adding significant Weight.

ULTEM™ XP060 PEI Foam provides a refined combination of Lightweight Performance, Fire Safety Compliance, and Environmental Resistance, making it a dependable Material Solution for High-Performance Applications where Strength-to-Weight Efficiency is Essential.
