ULTEM™ XP080 Foam. Non Reinforced 80 kg/m³. Outstanding Lighweight

Superior Flame, Smoke & Toxicity performance. Good Chemical Resistance

ULTEM™ XP080 PEI Foam is a High-Performance Polyetherimide Material engineered with a Density of 80 kg/m³, providing enhanced Load-Bearing Capability while maintaining Lightweight Characteristics. ULTEM™ XP080 PEI Foam is designed for Applications requiring a balance of Structural Strength and Weight Reduction, making it suitable for Aerospace, Transportation, and Advanced Composite Systems.

This Material functions as a Structural Core rather than a standalone molded Component, allowing efficient support of Composite Panels while minimizing overall System Mass. The Foam Structure enables effective Load Distribution, allowing ULTEM™ XP080 PEI Foam to enhance Structural Stiffness in Sandwich Constructions where Mechanical Stability and Weight Efficiency remain Critical Requirements.

Compliance with FAR 25.853 ensures suitability for Fire-Sensitive Environments such as Aircraft Interiors, where Flame, Smoke, and Safety Performance are essential. Low Moisture Absorption allows Components to maintain Dimensional Stability over time, while Resistance to Mold and Fungus supports long-term Durability in Humid Operating Conditions.

Thermal Performance remains stable across a wide Temperature Range, allowing ULTEM™ XP080 PEI Foam to maintain Structural Integrity in both Low-Temperature and Elevated Heat Environments. This capability supports reliable Performance in Applications exposed to extreme Environmental Conditions.

Additional Functional Value is provided through Radar Transparency, allowing use in Systems where Electromagnetic Performance is important. This Feature enables ULTEM™ XP080 PEI Foam to support Communication and Sensing Applications requiring signal clarity and minimal interference.

Strong Chemical Resistance allows the Material to perform reliably when exposed to Acids, Bases, Aromatics, and Ketones, ensuring durability in demanding Chemical Environments. Compatibility with various Adhesive Systems supports efficient Bonding within Composite Structures, enabling flexible Integration into engineered Assemblies.

While delivering inherent Fire Performance, ULTEM™ XP080 PEI Foam is not UL Rated, as it is optimized for Aerospace Compliance rather than standard Flame Classifications. The Material is also RoHS Compliant, supporting Environmentally Responsible Material Selection.

Typical Applications include Composite Panels, Aircraft Interior Structures, Flooring Systems, Partitions, and Structural Reinforcements where Weight Reduction and Mechanical Performance must be achieved together. ULTEM™ XP080 PEI Foam provides an effective Core Solution for Designers seeking enhanced Stiffness without additional Mass.

ULTEM™ XP080 PEI Foam delivers a strong combination of Lightweight Performance, Structural Strength, Thermal Stability, and Chemical Durability, making it a dependable Material Choice for High-Performance Applications where Efficiency and Reliability are essential.
